Weichold<br> 6th International Conference on Concrete Repair (Concrete Solutions), Thessaloniki, <strong>2017<\/strong>, S. 235\u2013238.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Development\n of Electrically Conductive Resins for the On-Site Fabrication of \nSensors for Corrosion Detection and Risk Assessment in Reinforced \nConcrete<br><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABSTRACT: Assessing the risk of corrosion in \nsteel-reinforced concrete can be accomplished using different types of \nsensors such as anode ladders or multi-ring electrodes. The former are \nunsuitable for retrofit installations, while the latter require the use \nof embedding mortars to achieve conductive connections with the \nsurrounding concrete. However, the porosity of the embedding mortar \ndiffers from that of the concrete and the retrofitting action introduces\n additional moisture. This interferes with resistivity and\/or potential \nmeasurements and makes interpretations of the actual situation \nproblematic. To circumvent these disadvantages, we have developed a \nliquid reactive polymer resin with high electrical conductivity that can\n be used to fabricate sensors directly inside drill holes. The mixture \nsolidifies in a short time and its adhesive properties provide an \nexcellent conductive connection to the concrete walls. The resin \ncontains no water so that reliable values can be obtained immediately \nafter solidification. By changing the additives both resistivity and \npotential sensors can be obtained. The mixture is cheap so that large \nsensor networks can be installed at reasonable costs. Such networks are \nideal for the precise localization of corrosion events and more \nimportantly for risk assessment in steel-reinforced structures.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>P.
