Innovations and their implementation are often lengthy processes in the construction industry. Especially in structural engineering and transport infrastructure construction, people often rely on the "tried and tested".

Bundled in the "Building" cluster on the RWTH Aachen Campus, the Center Building and Infrastructure Engineering (CBI) wants to use trends together with industry and implement innovations and technology transfers more efficiently and quickly. In addition, the CBI would like to achieve a faster transfer into regulations and approvals. This is because standardisation and approval processes still hinder the transfer from the laboratory to the construction site.
